Hey Minnesota Fans,
Hey ya'll. How are things going? Are you guys ready for Saturday the 6th? I know all the girls on the team are more than ready. We have been logging in some good hours in the gym over the last 2 1/2 weeks. We are all very anxious to get down to business. It has not been easy in the gym! We have gone through two-a-days, battles at all the positions, and we have also been going against the guys! It has been fun and very productive. I think we are all ready to play against someone else.
What is really important in such a short season is that we get chemistry together and that has been developing over the last few days. We are ready to get this thing on the road. It is time for the Lynx to make some waves in the WNBA this season. This is going to be an exciting team. It stinks that we cannot keep everyone in camp because all the women bring something a little different to this team. SO with that being said, there is something you can do to help us out for next year. COME SEE US PLAY, SUPPORT THE WNBA, and that will help us get back to at least a 13-women roster!
As the bumps, bruises, and muscles heal from all the hard work, we are all getting into the game mind set. That is the exciting part of sports!!! Getting together with 10 other women and the coaches, putting together a game plan to go against some of the best women in the world every other night!! If you cannot get excited about that, then you are not a player or a fan! Get excited Lynx fans!!! The time is almost here. We have a week of tune ups and we are gonna hit the road running. Hope that you have gotten an insight on the hard work that has taken place over the weeks! Hope to see you guys at the first game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday June 6th!!! BE THERE!

Hey Minnesota Fans,
How are things going? It's been sometime since my last update, so I thought I'd give you guys an update on what is going on here in CT Land!! Well, I thought I was going to be in Minnesota by now, but there was a little glitch so I'm headed there the first of May instead. I got back from Spain safely and had a great time practicing over there and getting back in the up and down flow of the game. Even though I didn't play in any games, I still had a blast and got to see a lot of friends in the process. I am now back home in Atlanta working out again. The WNBA season is going to be here before you know it. I am soooooo excited! I cannot wait to meet all the players and coaches and get this thing crackin' (in the words of my college coach Andy Landers). I've had the chance to talk to one of my new teammates and she told me that Minnesota is the ideal place to be and that she would never complain about being there. That right there gives me a very positive outlook for the '09 season! I am so excited and ready to have fun playing basketball again!!!!
The only thing that I am scared about in Minnesota is the weather. It is beautiful down here in GA right now! I am sure that it will be great this summer though! The Mall of America will make up for any bad weather :)~ .
Well I'm going to go walk my dog in this beautiful weather ! I will update you guys again soon!! Until then....

What's up Lynx fans? Well, here is another healthy dose of questions and an update on what is going on in my world! Can you guys believe the season is just around the corner?! Time really does fly! We are about to get this thing started again. It will be a little different this year because we are starting a little later, which I think might actually be a good thing. It will give the people coming back from overseas a chance to see their families before they have to depart to their respective playing cities. It will be interesting to see how this new schedule works for the league! I cannot wait to see your smiling and cheering faces in every city around the league!
Well, right now I am in Spain trying to sharpen up before I head to Minnesota and start camp. If you are an athlete you know that after a surgery, the hardest part of your game to get back is.... your game. I am working on getting my timing together and getting my body back into the flow of basketball stuff! Even though I have been working out and shooting, nothing is like getting up and down the court. While I am here I am sightseeing, visiting some friends that are actually playing here, and doing some reading. That is one of my hobbies that I actually like to do. I don't mind just sitting at home, reading a book. I am also a movie person! Making it a Blockbuster night or actually going to see the new movie that is out is another favorite downtime event of mine. I really am a homebody....
Ok totally changing the subject, but it is a must. While I am very happy to be associated with the Minnesota Lynx, I cannot thank my Sparks fans for their support over the last five years. I have to say that you guys have been nothing but loyal through the good and the bad times. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to play in front of you guys for my first years in the WNBA. I will look forward to seeing all of you a couple of times this season.
Ok everyone I am about to sign off.... I hope you keep your questions and comments coming. Have fun watching the tournament and seeing some of the future faces of the WNBA play their last collegiate games. Of course, I gotta give love and send luck to those Georgia Lady Dawgs. Oh and let me not forget to send a shout out to the BUFORD LADY WOLVES 2A STATE CHAMPIONS!! (That is my old high school). Talk to you soon basketball fans!
It's me,

Hey Lynx Fans!!! It is great to receive so much interest and love from fans that don't even really know me yet. I have gotten some great questions and comments from a few people and wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all of you! Before I answer the questions let me give you an update on what is going on with me in Atlanta.
OK.... so I am actually in Atlanta right now. I have been here since the end of the WNBA season. I am rehabbing my knee and working out so that I am ready to go full blast for my new family. I do rehab three days a week and workout everyday. My workouts consist of speed, agility, quickness drills, cardio (plain old running), and lifting. I have been working with the PTI group (www.performancetraininginc.com/home.cfm) near my hometown. I train with a couple of other WNBA players so it has been fun. I will be heading to Minnesota around the middle of April to learn the great city of Minneapolis and get to know my coaches and Lynx family before training camp actually starts. So those are the happenings down here in Atlanta! Sweet and simple, that is how we southerners like things!
Now for the most important thing!!! The questions and comments from our wonderful Lynx and WNBA fans!!! I have gotten a few really touching comments from some fans. I just wanted to say thank you to Ms. Lois and Ron Kirkpatrick for their support of not only myself, but the WNBA as a whole! There are a lot of great players around the league and I am humbled by the fact that you would take time out of your day to send ME an e-mail! Thank you so much!!!!
I also received and e-mail asking why a lot of WNBA players play overseas. I cannot speak for everyone, but this is my own personal view of playing overseas. Our season is only about five months long and in order to stay in shape and to continue to develop as a player, overseas is a great option. Not only can you get better, but you can also make money in the process. Seven months is a long offseason, and it is easy to get out of shape. Going overseas is a good way to learn different cultures, travel, meet new people, and do what we love (play basketball).
The WNBA is still a young league and it is important that we continue to grow and gain support for our league. With the increased growth of the league, other things will grow as well: season length, number of teams, and the amount of money that players can make. I think once the league does expand, less people will travel overseas to play. I think everything is determined by you, the consumer! The more you demand us the more they will have to give you what you want. I know that these are hard times for us as a country, but I know all the players in the WNBA appreciate the support that we get because there is nothing better than playing the sport you love in your own country! It is not only good for our current players, but also for the future hoopers in the world. The more demand we have for the WNBA the more of a reality it is for that young girl shooting hoops in her driveway!!!!
O.K. enough of my soapbox preaching! Again thank you so much for your interest in the WNBA, the Lynx, and me personally. I look forward to many more questions, comments, and eventually face to face meeting! In the words of Russell Simmons, "Thanks for coming out God Bless and goodnight."
Ciao,
CT

Hey Lynx Fans, Christi Thomas here. How are you guys this off-season? I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be talking to you guys! I am so excited to be in the Lynx family and to be able to play with the great group of women that are in Minnesota. I just wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself so you guys can become familiar with who I am!
First, I am a former UGA Lady Bulldawg that played with Kelly Miller for one year before she entered the WNBA. I attended the University of Georgia from 2000 to 2004, before the Sparks drafted me with the 12th overall pick in the 2004 WNBA Draft. As you might know I've spent the beginning part of my career playing behind a great player in Lisa Leslie. I had a wonderful time learning from her the last four years and getting to know her as well as the other players that have worn a Sparks uniform during my time in L.A. I am excited for the opportunity to advance my career while being apart of helping my new team be a championship contender. I think with the additions the front office has made this off-season to an already talented roster, fans in Minnesota can expect this team to shoot up the standings! The Lynx had a great run last year and we have no doubt that we can have an even better '09 season.
I am so excited to get to know the great group of fans in Minnesota. I look forward to getting to know all of you on a more personal basis and for you to learn more about me. You will find out that I am a true southern girl with a southern drawl! If you ever have any questions or just want to say hello, feel free to give me a holler (in my best southern voice) whenever you like. Send your questions to seehusen@lynxbasketball.com and I'd be happy to try my best to answer them!
Thanks for listening (or actually reading). Can't wait to hear from you and get to Minnesota!
One of your newest Lynx,
Christi Thomas #4
