Wiggins, Ohlde Stop By Mary’s Place Family Shelter

Last Thursday, Lynx players Candice Wiggins and Nicole Ohlde helped over 300 children from the Mary's Place Family Shelter pick out Halloween costumes and celebrate Halloween during the GE Halloween party.

Thursday's event gave the chance for Wiggins and Ohlde to get out in the community and help those that are less fortunate. "I love doing events like these because you can really see the impact you have on these kids," explained Ohlde. "From the smiles on the kids faces, to the special interactions with the kids - it's truly amazing to know that we can and do make a difference in these kids lives."

The GE Halloween Party, in its 11th year, is an event for the children of the Mary's Place Family Shelter. The event is organized and funded by 55 members of GE Volunteers and features pizza, games, costumes and donated clothing and supplies for the children.

"Some of the costumes were hilarious," concluded Wiggins. "It was great to see the kids having such a great time. This is such a great event and I'm glad we were a part of it."
