WNBA Cares

In a combined effort to promote the tip off of the 2011 season, the WNBA league and teams hosted service-oriented community events throughout the week of May 24th - June 1st for WNBA Cares Week of Service. These events highlighted our continued commitment to the communities in which we live, learn and play.

Monica Wright shows students that "Breakfast Rules"
On Wednesday, May 25th Monica Wright and Prowl were at City View Community School for a "Breakfast Rules Assembly" presented by Old Orchard. Uli from Midwest Food Connection gave the kids some pointers on eating a healthy breakfast, and Monica Wright talked about her favorite foods and played games with Prowl and the students. Prowl closed out the assembly with a dunk contest!

Houston and McWilliams-Franklin Inspire Women at FAIR School
On Thursday, May 26th Charde Houston and Taj McWilliams-Franklin visited with over 80 6th grade girls at FAIR School Crystal. They spoke about the importance of supporting each other and respecting yourself. This event was in conjunction with the league´┐Żs Inspiring Women's platform.
