WNBA Cares As a part of WNBA Cares week, the Minnesota Lynx will begin its Lynx Cares Season Kickoff on Wednesday, May 8. During Lynx Cares, the Lynx will highlight the organization's continued commitment to the community through programs which focus on education, youth, family development, health and wellness throughout the Twin Cities.

Lynx Cares begins on Wednesday, May 8 at 8:30 a.m. when forward Maya Moore hosts a FIT Assembly at Armstrong Elementary School in Cottage Grove. Emceed by Lynx Radio Play-by-Play Announcer Alan Horton, the assembly will encourage students to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle. Moore will participate in a Q&A with the students, before giving out posters, signing autographs and posing for pictures with the group.

The same day, Janel McCarville, Lindsay Whalen and Devereaux Peters will team up with Habitat for Humanity during the organization's National Women Build Week celebration. From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., the trio will participate in the opening ceremony, talking about the importance of giving back to the community. Following the ceremony, they will help the other volunteers to repair and repaint a house, joining the more than 10,000 women who will be volunteering during National Women Build Week.

On Thursday, May 23 at 2:30 p.m., Seimone Augustus and Monica Wright will host a Reading Time-Out at Bethune Community School in Minneapolis. The pair will be reading to a group of 30-40 third and fourth grade students as part of the team's Read to Achieve program. Augustus and Wright will talk about the importance of reading and working hard to the group before handing out Lynx prizes and posters to the students, while posing for pictures with the group.

Finally, on Tuesday, May 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Lynx will hold their inaugural Tip-A-Lynx. Hosted at TGI Fridays in St. Louis Park, the entire Lynx team and coaching staff will be waiting on fans tables and pouring their drinks in order to raise money for a good cause. The night will also feature a live auction, raffling off some unique experiences with the Lynx players.
