Lynx guard Lindsey Harding joined forwards Nicky Anosike and Charde Houston on stops seven and eight of the "33 Days of Augustus".
Nicky Anosike continued her two-day tour of the Cornerstone Summer Program Friday, this time bringing along Lindsey Harding to the program's end-of-summer barbeque. Anosike and Harding interacted with the students, speaking to them about important life skills, how to apply them to their every day lives and how to achieve their goals.
Friday's appearance wasn't all business, as Anosike and Harding were able to hone some of their off the court skills. Anosike tried her luck with a basketball arcade game and Harding rocked out to some Guitar Hero with the campers.
All in all the experience was rewarding not only for the kids, but the players as well. " The kids were great," said Harding. "We had fun getting to know them. It's important to get out in the community and act as a role model for the youth of today."
Anosike and Harding brought Charde Houston with them to the 20th annual Hoop it Up 3-on-3 Tournament at Dunwoody College in Minneapolis this past weekend.
The ladies, along with Timberwolves forward Corey Brewer judged the tournament's Slam Dunk Competition Saturday and Sunday. "It was cool," said Houston. "The kids could really dunk and it was fun getting out into the community and interacting with our fans."
Anosike, Harding, Houston and company will stay busy this week, with 10 events in the next five days, including stops at People Serving People, the Minnesota Zoo and the YWCA Triathlon.
