Lynx in the Community - 2013Throughout the 2013 season, Minnesota Lynx players and coaches will make over 150 appearances around the Twin Cities area. These appearances include FIT events, Reading Time-Outs, basketball clinics and many other local events.
The Minnesota Lynx also raise funds for the Lynx Foundation whose mission is to support breast cancer research and support programs
in the state of Minnesota. In addition, the Lynx also give back though donations to local organizations and though their Tickets for Kids Program.
WNBA FITAs part of the WNBA’s FIT platform, Minnesota Lynx players and coaches host events and clinics throughout the season to encourage children and their families to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle. They also talk about the importance of staying in school and working
as a team.
Lynx Catwalk for a CureCome watch your favorite Lynx players strut their stuff in the 5th Annual Catwalk for a Cure at the Mall of America to raise funds for the Minnesota Lynx Foundation. The event includes a fashion show where the Lynx players and coaches are the models. They will be wearing clothes from stores in the mall and will have the opportunity to show their personal style. The Lynx will also host a silent auction
and program.
Reading TimeoutThe Minnesota Lynx Read to Achieve program is a year-round literacy program designed to help students and kids develop a life-long
love for reading. During the season, Lynx players host Reading Time-Outs throughout the Twin Cities area.
