WOMEN'S EVENT 15 TO HONOR LEADERS IN LBT COMMUNITY

Annual Event Supports the LGBT Community Center's Programming for Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Women

November 7, 2012, New York, New York - The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center's 15th Annual Women's Event gala will take place on Saturday, November 10, 2012.

The evening will honor outstanding leaders in the community including Nancy Mahon, SVP at MAC Cosmetics and Global Executive Director of the MAC AIDS Fund, who will receive the Community Leader Award for her commitment to the Center's HIV/AIDS services. Accepting our Activist Award are representatives of The New York Liberty WNBA basketball team for their efforts to promote and establish an inclusive atmosphere at games and in the community. Recipients of the Center's Out/Ally Corporate Team Award are Cindy Armine, Co-Chief Control Officer, JPMorgan Chase, and Lori Littell-Pape, Chief of Staff, Chase Consumer & Community Banking.

This year, Women's Event is moving to Three Sixty° in Tribeca, which boasts a stunning 360-degree view of New York City. The evening includes a spectacular night of cocktails, dinner and dancing with music by DJ Tanner. Women's Event will also feature a live auction with a unique experience from The New York Liberty, in addition to an impressive art and silent auction.

Lisa A. Linsky, Esq. and Center Board Member Stephanie Battaglino are serving as Event Co-Chairs. Center Board Co-Chair H. Gwen Marcus, Esq. is serving as Honorary Chair. The After Party Host Committee is spearheaded by Center Young Leader Council members Molly McGovern and Andrea Minkow.

Following the excitement of DJ Tanner spinning at the After Party, guests will be offered an exclusive sneak peak at The Dalloway restaurant and bar, opening in SoHo on November 13 and co-owned by Kim Stolz and Amanda Leigh Dunn, influencers of the New York lesbian scene.

Women's Event 15 directly benefits the Center's diverse array of programs and services for lesbian, bisexual and transgender women. Programs such as Youth Enrichment Services, Lesbian Cancer Initiative and Gender Identity Project are all designed to nurture and support the LBT communities. These vital programs remain possible largely because of the support the Center receives from the generous gifts and funds raised from Women's Event 15.

Tickets can be purchased at www.gaycenter.org/w15 or by contacting Scott Young, Special Projects Manager at 646.358.1723 or syoung@gaycenter.org.
