Liberty Host Mystics - Going For Home Season Sweep

For the second time in the young 2007 season, the Liberty will host the Washington Mystics.

Get to The Garden for the 7:00 pm tip on Tuesday, June 12th, as the Liberty look to sweep the home portion of the season series.

Last time the two teams met in a School Day Matinee in May, the Liberty walked away with a well-earned 81-76 victory.

Both teams had four players in double figure scoring:

Liberty Erin Thorn & Shameka Christon 17
Cathrine Kraayeveld 16
Barbara Farris 11

Mystics Alana Beard 23
DeLisha Milton-Jones 14
Nikki Teasley 11
Chasity Melvin 10

The game was evenly matched in just about every key statistical category with both teams putting up offensive runs, but the Liberty buckled down and got some key stops down the stretch.

Since that May meeting, the Mystics have sustained several major changes. Starting center Chasity Melvin was traded to the Chicago Sky in return for Virginia native Monique Currie. In addition, head coach Richie Adubato resigned and assistant coach Tree Rollins has stepped in to the lead role.

Although the Mystics are 0-7 most of their games have been very close. On the Liberty side, the team is looking to end a two game slide and notch another W for the win column.
