Mighty McCarville Leading USA Select Team

The USA Select Team lost in its second match of the 2007 FIBA World League Tournament in Ekaterinburg, Russia on Tuesday morning. Fighting back from a 13-point first-half deficit, the Americans were edged 79-76 by TEO Vilnius (1-1). The Liberty’s Janel McCarville netted 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

“I think we didn't come out as intense as we could have and that put us in a little hole,” said McCarville following the loss. “They obviously made some big shots early and went up on us. We were able to catch up and tie the game, take the lead a couple times, but we weren't able to sustain it. They hit some big shots down the stretch.”

Liiberty guard Loree Moore logged three minutes in the game, but did not score. Read the full game recap here.
