New York acquires 2003 second round draft choice from Sacramento

NEW YORK, April 22, 2002 -- New York Liberty Senior Vice President and General Manager Carol Blazejowski announced that the team has traded Andrea Nagy to the Sacramento Monarchs in exchange for their 2003 second round draft choice.

Nagy, 31, was acquired from the Mystics along with Washington's 4th round pick (57th overall) in exchange for the Liberty's second and third round picks (28th and 44th overall) in the 2001 WNBA Draft. The 5'7" guard came off the bench for 23 games during the 2001 season, shooting .419 while averaging 1.5 ppg.

Originally selected by Washington in the third round (25th overall) of the 1999 WNBA Draft, Nagy has averaged 3.8 ppg while shooting .405 shooting throughout her career.

In exchange for Nagy, the Liberty has acquired Sacramento's 2nd round draft choice in the 2003 WNBA Draft.
