Results Are In: Third Annual Golden Maddie Awards!

Cue the cheesy awards show music, ladies and gentlemen, because the results are in for NYLiberty.com's third annual Golden Maddie Awards!

With the biggest awards show of them all, the Oscars, taking place in March, we decided to take a page from Hollywood and try out our own version.

Throughout the past few weeks, we created categories based on the Oscars and left the voting up to you, our loyal fans.

Unlike the Academy Awards, our ceremony won't stretch beyond four hours, be filled with boring acceptance speeches or have Ryan Seacrest asking awkward questions with fake enthusiasm. Thank you to all that voted, once, twice or even seven times. And be sure to congratulate the winners when you see them all in action this summer at The Garden!

Timeless Torches
The Timeless Torches show that you don't have to be young to be a Liberty fan, just young at heart. This group made an impact on Opening Day by performing a routine to the tune of Beyonce's Single Ladies. The Torches remain to be one of the hottest acts of the WNBA and have shown off their moves at the WNBA All-Star Game in 2006, 2007 and 2009. Three-Time Winner!

(Best Short Film, Live Action)		 Driving Ms. McCarville
August 21 vs. Connecticut Sun at Madison Square Garden: After dropping a game two days prior to the Sun at Mohegan, New York struck back with an overtime thriller on its home court. McCarville’s driving lay-up with 8.2 seconds remaining in overtime sealed the victory. Two-Time Winner!
