Liberty To Hold School Supply Drive

It’s that time again – when parents start thinking about their kids going back to school again. Buying new clothes, new school supplies etc…

Well there are plenty of kids who are not as fortunate and we can all help them out.

On Tuesday, August 8th, the New York Liberty will be sponsoring a School Supply Drive. The drive will take place prior to the Liberty vs. Fever game. Fans are encouraged to bring unused items such as pens/pencils, markers, notebooks, scissors and rulers. The first 2,500 fans to donate unused school supplies will receive a special New York Liberty pin. Collection bins will be set up for fans to drop off their donated items on both sides of the mall entering The Garden Box Office.

All school supplies that are collected on August 8th will then be delivered to the Life Shelter by several of the Liberty players in time for the kids to have before they go back to school.

The Life Shelter, a homeless shelter in Manhattan, was recently the recipient of a room makeover in which several Liberty players helped refurbish and create a “Play and Learn Center.”

Liberty fans, don’t forget to be a part of the team and donate unused school supplies to help kids in New York City homeless shelters get ready for school! See you on Tuesday, August 8th!
