Hit The Road

The Liberty will hit the road for the first time this summer and to celebrate, we're bringing you along for the ride. Find out what some of your favorite players do as they live the life of the avid traveler.

Which WNBA city are you looking forward to traveling to this season?

Guard Loree Moore
“I have to say Los Angeles, my hometown!”

Guard Lisa Willis
“LA all day! That’s hometown!”

Guard Leilani Mitchell
“Seattle, because all my family will be there.”

Forward Ashley Battle
" Wherever there’s a Connecticut alum. There’s a lot of them!”

Guard Megan Duffy
“I’m looking forward to Indianapolis. I live about two hours from there so I will have a lot of friends and family there.”

Center Jessica Davenport
“Indianapolis. I’m from Ohio so a lot of my family comes to that game.”

What do you do to help pass the time while sitting in the airport?

Battle
“Either read a book, talk to Loree, shop and this year I’ll be doing homework since I’m taking classes.”

Moore
“I just picked up an iTouch, so I’m going to be listening to music and watching movies while we’re there sitting at the airport.”

Willis
“I either listen to my iPod or play my PSP. I also try not to buy things.”

Davenport
“Play my Nintendo DS and my iPod.”

Duffy
“I listen to my iPod, always bring a book to read, and mess around with my teammates. We’re always talking about something crazy.”

What is your favorite part about travelling?

Moore
“I have to say going to the restaurants at the different cities. We usually try to hit up different spots. My favorite was The Capitol Grille in Chicago.”

Davenport
“I don’t like flying, so basically, when we land. That’s the best part!”

Battle
“Seeing different parts of the country.”

Duffy
“Getting to catch up on sleep.”

Mitchell
“Just being on the road with the team, you just have to worry about basketball and have fun with each other.”

Willis
“Getting my skymiles.”

What is the worst part about life on the road

Duffy
“Waiting in Airports.”

Willis
“All the delays that New York has to offer!”

Battle
“The travelling part! Just beam me up and get me there and that will be perfect.”

Moore
“The whole drawn out process from checking in and waiting for the bags.”

Mitchell
“Staying in a hotel room. That’s all we do here, so you kind of get sick of them after a while.”

Finally, what was the funniest thing you’ve seen or done on a road trip?

Battle
“Last year I had a video camera for MSG, and this guy really like Tiffany (Jackson). It was the guy who shined the shoes, and it was absolutely hilarious because he came over and started singing to her.”

Davenport
“Last year there was a lot of turbulence on one flight out of Phoenix, and I saw Nick (DiPillo) get all nervous and grab the top of the airplane to hold on.”

Mitchell
“When I was at school, we snuck out at five in the morning to go surfing when we were in Hawaii.”

Duffy
“When I was playing at Notre Dame, on the last road trip we’d always dress up in mixed match clothes, all funky like 80’s outfits, and would walk around the airport as a big group. People would give us looks.”

Willis
“Last year I got food poisoning in Phoenix. Once I got to the airport, I was all laid out and dehydrated. The paramedics had to come and they wanted to take me to the hospital…that wasn’t really that funny to think about it.”
