A New York Minute With ... Cory Montgomery

Cory Montgomery's name was announced during the third round of the 2010 WNBA Draft on April 8 in Secaucus, New Jersey, however the 6-2 forward had other things on her mind.

The business administration major has a good excuse, though; she was in class at the University of Nebraska taking a test.

Montgomery now has her sights set on Training Camp next week. She will arrive with some great momentum, coming off of a successful senior campaign. This season, she helped Nebraska produce its best season in school history, including a 32-2 overall mark, a 16-0 conference mark for the school's first-ever Big 12 regular-season title and first-No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

This Lady Husker completed her four-year career averaging 10.6 ppg and 4.8 rpg through 130 games with 69 starts. A 2010 First-Team All-Big 12 selection secured her place on the program's all-time leader board, including games played (tied for 2nd, 130), scoring (12th, 1,378), rebounds (13th, 627), three-point field goals made (9th, 80) and three-point field goal percentage (3rd, .385). She will also graduate ranked as the No. 8 Lady Husker in program history to post 1,300 points and 600 career rebounds.
