NEW YORK LIBERTY SIGN PRAHALIS TO SEVEN-DAY CONTRACT

Liberty Sign Commack, NY Native to Second Consecutive Seven-Day Contract

NEW YORK, NY July 29, 2013 New York Liberty Head Coach and General Manager Bill Laimbeer announced today that the team has signed guard Samantha Prahalis to a second consecutive seven-day contract.

New York signed Prahalis to a seven-day contract on July 22 and she saw her first action with the Liberty on July 25 against San Antonio with two minutes played. Prahalis was waived by the Phoenix Mercury on July 18.

A first round (sixth overall) selection by the Mercury in 2012, Prahalis averaged 11.6 points, 4.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game en route to being named to the 2012 WNBA All-Rookie Team.

The Liberty will play the last of four-straight road games on Wednesday, July 31 against the Washington Mystics at 7 p.m. The Liberty return to Prudential Center on Aug. 3 against the Connecticut Sun at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at NYLiberty.com.
