The Liberty and Merrill Lynch Announce New Community Initiative: Vickie Johnson Investment Challenge

New York, July 25 --This summer, courtesy of Merrill Lynch and The Stock Market Game, 50 young women will learn how to invest in the Stock Market. Each team, consisting of four girls, will receive a mock $100,000 portfolio.

They will participate in classes and learn how the stock market works and will be encouraged to buy and sell stocks during a five-week period. Also taking place during this five week period will be field trips to Merrill Lynch as well as the Liberty and Knicks offices. The Investment Challenge will be capped off with an awards ceremony at The Garden prior to the Liberty game on Thursday, August 14th.

The winner will also be introduced during that game at halftime. Vickie Johnson will attend a field trip with the girls as well as greet them again when they come to the Liberty game. VJ will speak to they young women participating and encourage them to invest wisely as she does!
