Can’t Help But Wonder, What If …
Each player headed overseas in the fall with Coyle’s words still embedded in the back of their minds. Despite the uniforms, faces and even the language being different over there, by glancing through the overseas stat lines thus far, it’s clear to see the infamous four words still echo in each player's ears. There’s quite a distance between them during the off-season, however, nothing can hinder the collective goals of the Liberty.
With the overseas seasons in full swing and the 2008 WNBA season in sight, NYLiberty.com can’t help but be curious about what might come back with the players when they report to Training Camp in New York in a few months. Eight of the 11 players participating in overseas play are currently posting double figures in points, a feat only accomplished by three Liberty players in the 2007 WNBA regular season.
We have to wonder: will those foreign stat lines translate to the WNBA court?
STARTING FIVE
With 31 games played in FIBA action, the combination of starters Loree Moore, Erin Thorn, Shameka Christon, Cathrine Kraayeveld and Janel McCarville would amount to a better average than the numbers they posted collectively in 31 games of the 2007 WNBA regular season. Check this out:
