Liberty Overseas Report Oct 5 -16

For New York Liberty fans looking for up-to-date information on their favorite Liberty players as they continue to compete and excel overseas, the following is a quick recap of how several players have fared with their European/Australian teams. The summary covers games played from October 5-16 2013.

 

Guard Leilani Mitchell is the only Liberty player who has ventured outside of Europe for the offseason, competing for Dandenong Rangers, a WNBL (Australian Womenís Basketball League) team based in Melbourne, Australia.  Mitchell has helped the squad to an early 2-0 record with averages of 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game. 

 

Alex Montgomery (@_alexANDRIA_88) is playing for Tarbes Gespe Bigorre (Tarbes GB) in Tarbes, France.  In French League competition, Tarbes is off to a 1-1 start with Montgomery averaging 10 points and 5 rebounds per game.  Plenette Pierson (@DaEnforcer33) returns to Slovakia this fall to play for the Good Angels. 

 

Three Liberty players will spend the offseason in Turkey with Kelsey Bone (@kelseybone3) playing for Galatasaray, Cappie Pondexter (@cappa23) with Fenerbahce and Delisha Milton-Jones (@DelishaMJones) for Tarsus Beleydi.  Bone and Pondexter faced off against each other in Presidentís Cup.  Bone led Galatasaray with 24 points, falling to Fenerbahce behind 20 points from Pondexter. 

 

Toni Young (@4evaYOUNG15) and Kamiko Williams (@K_Benz4) are both competing in the Israeli Basketball League this fall with Young playing for Maccabi Ramat Hen and Williams for Elizur Holon. Their teams will kick off the season later this month.
