Liberty Cool Off Fever, Remain Undefeated with WNBA-Best 5-0 Record
Guard Ashley Battle came off the bench to score 15 points and grab a season/team-high seven rebounds against Indiana. “One of the team’s goals is to push the ball, which creates openings that we can take advantage of good scoring opportunities,” Battle explained after the game.
“When she’s really focused and in tune, she’s really good,” said head coach Pat Coyle of Battle’s performance.
New York had five players in double figures on Tuesday, with guard Loree Moore and Cathrine Kraayeveld finishing with 15 points, while Jessica Davenport and Erin Thorn added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The Liberty once again had the hot hand, with 66.7% shooting from beyond-the-arc, led by Moore’s three-of-three shooting.
New York will have the chance to make league history again on Friday, June 8th at 7:30PM in Madison Square Garden when it hosts the defending WNBA Champion Detroit Shock (4-0).
