Passing the Torch, Blazing the Trail

National Girls and Women in Sports Day is not just a day to celebrate the achievements of women in sports, but a time to focus on (1) the importance of remedying past discrimination against women in sports, (2) the benefits of sports participation for girls, and (3) addressing the myths that have kept both boys and girls from supporting girls' sports participation.

The NY Liberty have partnered with select organizations to amplify these very messages throughout the NYC Metro via the following:

Girls Prep Middle School  - School Assembly
Wednesday, February 5, 2014
Kym Hampton, Liberty Legend, to host assembly for 100+ middle school girls to kick-off National Girls & Women in Sports Day.

Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) City-Wide Events
Kym Hampton will host a series of panel discussions throughout the five boroughs, focusing on various topics of women in sport to celebrate NGWSD.  Female high school athletes will participate in each event, with over 150+ student-athletes attending the February 10th event at MSG.
