Liberty Sign La’Keshia Frett to Seven-Day Contract

NEW YORK, July 9, 2004 -- The New York Liberty has signed forward La'Keshia Frett to a seven-day contract. The announcement was made today by New York Liberty Senior Vice President and General Manager Carol Blazejowski.

Frett, a 6-3 forward, is a six-year veteran of the WNBA having suited up for the Los Angeles Sparks (1999-2000), Sacramento Monarchs (2001-2003) and, most recently, 10 games for the Charlotte Sting this year.

The 1997 Georgia State graduate has a career average of 3.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per game in just under 14 minutes of action per contest.

Conditions of the contract were not released per team policy.

The New York Liberty basketball team, in its eighth year of operation with the 2004 season, is part of the Madison Square Garden, L.P. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns a controlling interest in the MSG L.P., which also include the New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Rangers (NHL), the Hartford Wolfpack (American Hockey League), the MSG Network, Fox Sports New York and the Madison Square Garden arena complex, located in the heart of the New York metropolitan area.
