Holiday Q&A With Shameka Christon
Getting In The Holiday Spirit

The holiday season is upon us once again. It's a busy time for all, whether you're juggling a large shopping list, all those party invitations, a fabulous getaway vacation or managing an overseas basketball season schedule (like some people we know).

Once again, NYLiberty.com is rolling out its holiday questionnaire, where we put aside the hoops chatter for once and ask the Liberty players some holiday-themed questions. Whatever your holiday tradition may be, crank up the holiday tunes and curl up to the computer to find out how forward Shameka Christon's plans are coming together.

Shop online or in the stores?
I prefer to shop online. I hate the long lines and the limited items available when I return home from overseas.

Cheesiest holiday tradition: Singing carols or giving fruitcake as a gift?
Honestly, I think that both are really cheesy. However, when I was younger, I would love to go caroling. Now, I'LL PASS. And fruitcake is just disgusting. I have to watch my figure [LOL].

Favorite holiday tradition?
The night before Christmas, our family always sits together and talks about funny, old stories from our childhood years. Oh, and my favorite tradition of all time is simply receiving GIFTS!!!!

Ideal holiday weather forecast?
SUN, SUN, AND MORE SUN! The snow here in Russia is up to my waist and I don't want to see it anymore.

Fill in the blank: The best gift to give this year is ...
Oh well, a Louis [Vuitton] bag (if someone is giving it to me, LOL). If that is too expensive then some stilettos will be just fine. I love shoes and bags.

Fill in the blank: The worst gift to give this year is ...
Socks. I remember getting socks when I was younger and it ruined me. Just tell me "Merry Christmas," instead and I will be very happy.

Best part of the holidays: Spending it with family and friends or giving/receiving gifts?
Spending it with family and friends, but receiving gifts is high on the list too. ;)

In a snowstorm, I'd rather be: nice & warm inside or enjoying it outside?
If there is a snowstorm, I hope it is a nightmare.  I really can't take anymore snow.

Money is no object or keep to a budget?
Hey?? Is this a trick question? Well I would say if you are buying for me- money is NO OBJECT [LOL]! But if I am buying ... (its a secret).

Fill in the blanks: If I could receive one basketball skill this holiday season from one of my team-mates, it would be ... 's ...
Janel's passing abilities -- and everything else about her game. I feel like the Grinch that stole Christmas, but I love her game.

Favorite person to shop for?
My mom and brother. They get excited about the gifts I buy and I know they are truly thankful.

Fill in the blank: I'll be spending the holidays this year with ...
My family and my dogs. And I can't wait!

When going to a holiday party I: bake something or Entemann's will do?
I kind of just show up. I know how to cook, bake or buy Entemann's, however, if you don't tell me to then, you have just ME! :)

Fill in the blank: The ideal holiday vacation would be ...
Bora Bora!! (Or anywhere besides the place I am currently in now.)

Best holiday meal?
Whatever my mom cooks.

Fill in the blank: I'm most looking forward to ... in 2009 .
The WNBA.

New Year's resolution?
Have not thought about it yet.
