Dream Week with the New York Liberty

For the third consecutive year, the Garden of Dreams Foundation hosted Dream Week, a week-long summer adventure for children from one of the Foundation's 21 charity partner organizations.

This year, 40 children from SCO Family of Services were chosen to participate in activities arranged for them by the New York Liberty, Knicks and Rangers, MSG Sports Properties, MSG Entertainment and Fuse.

The week began on Wednesday, July 6 with the Liberty and Rangers. Children were welcomed to the Madison Square Garden Training Center by Rangers alumnus, Rod Gilbert, who then joined the youngsters for an ice skating party on the Rangers practice ice.

After their Rangers' experience, the children were greeted by the New York Liberty players, Coach Whisenant, Assistant Coaches Monique Ambers and Lady Grooms. The group was taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Liberty players' lounge, locker room, training room and weight room with the players, coaches, and training staff as their guide. During the locker room visit, each child received a customized authentic New York Liberty Jersey.

The fun continued on the court with a very special "fan tunnel" where each child was introduced. There was a competitive game of ‘Dress and Dribble', an obstacle course, and the ultimate game of tug of war. After all the activities were completed, the Liberty joined the children for a team photo on center court and gave them an exclusive autograph session. It was an amazing way to tip off Dream week and show the New York Liberty's commitment to the community!

On Sunday, many other Garden of Dreams Foundation partners will join the team at Prudential Center for other special activities throughout the game. For tickets to join them, Click Here.
