"I grew up with the words of Dr. King helping to shape my life. My whole family, my brothers, uncles, parents all taught me from a very young age how important it was not only to be tolerant of all different kinds of people, but how to reach out across the barriers we've all built," describes Weatherspoon. New York Liberty Cheering for Children, a division of the Madison Square Garden Cheering for Children Foundation, works to support after school programs throughout New York City, including 120 after-school programs supporting 30,000 children.
