Weatherspoon and the Liberty Celebrate Black History Month

Weatherspoon will share the life and accomplishments of Track & Field star Wilma Rudolph, one of her role models, to the group of students. Additionally the group will discuss the significance of Wilma Rudolph to Black History while enjoying a lunch, compliments of Sylvia’s, the legendary Harlem restaurant.
After overcoming a serious childhood disease, Rudolph became the first American and African American woman to win three medals in one Olympics.
Weatherspoon an career paths. (I.e., both are; originally from the south, hold numerous medals, excelled in several sports, role models for young athletes,etc).
