Liberty Helps Raise More than $20,000 for Breast Cancer Research Foundation
The New York Liberty celebrated its annual Breast Health Awareness Night during the historic Liberty Outdoor Classic vs. the Indiana Fever on Saturday, July 19th. Due to the amazing support and participation of the fans in attendance, the Liberty's Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) fundraising efforts raised over $20,000, the highest sum ever for this annual event.
The entire New York Liberty and Indiana Fever teams lent their autographs to items such as jerseys, basketballs and special edition Liberty – BCRF t-shirts. The chance to win these exclusive items combined with the opportunity to raise money for this important cause generated intense enthusiasm.
By the time retired Liberty legend Kym Hampton and current New York Knick David Lee took the court to present BCRF representative Robbie Franklin with the fundraising check, the fans had added another piece of history to an already momentous evening. The funds raised from the BCRF auction will go directly towards helping find a cure for this deadly disease.
