Liberty Back In Action On Thursday At Madison Square Garden

NEW YORK, NY [August 26] – The Eastern Conference second place New York Liberty (15-10) will return from the WNBA’s Olympic Break to finish off its remaining 2008 regular season games with a matchup against the Chicago Sky at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. The league has been on a month long game hiatus to accommodate athletes who represented their individual countries in the 2008 Olympic Games.

The five remaining regular season home games will feature matchups against four Eastern Conference clubs as the Liberty seeks its ninth post-season berth. A three-game home-stand will begin on Friday, September 5 when the WNBA’s newest franchise, the Atlanta Dream, makes its Garden debut. Olympian Sylvia Fowles and the Sky will return to New York for the second game of the series on Sunday, September 7. On Tuesday, September 9, former Liberty All-Stars Becky Hammon, Vicky Johnson and the Western Conference-leading San Antonio Silver Stars will make their annual appearance in New York. The regular season will come to a close with a matchup against Bill Laimbeer and Conference rival the Detroit Shock at 4:00 p.m on Sunday, September 14.
