Will You Be My Valentine?

New York, NY - February 13, 2006 - We've been seeing red alot lately. And no, it's not because we're angry - but rather, it's because we're in the Valentine's Day spirit. We're surrounded by red and pink hearts, boxes of chocolates, and stuffed animals galore. Of course we realize that some people enjoy this holiday more so than others. Those that do like Valentine's Day think it is a great occasion to demonstrate their affection for others, whether it be with dinner, gifts or flowers; and whether it be with loved ones, family or friends. And those that don't, on the other hand, think February 14 is just another day on the calendar. So nyliberty.com checked in with some of the Liberty coaches and players to see which group they fall into. As you can see, almost everyone does celebrate Valentine's Day in one fashion or another. Though that probably shouldn't be too suprising, because you know New Yorkers are usually in the mood for any kind of celebration!

Shameka Christon celebrates with her mother. "I always celebrate with my mother. We buy each other gifts. Just something to show that we do love each other and that we are very special to each other, especially on that day."

Assistant Coach Nick DiPillo commemorates the day with his fiance. "We don't generally do too much, especially if it falls on a weekday. We will usually just go to dinner together."

Loree Moore enjoys mellow V-Days. "Yes I celebrate Valentine's Day. I like to go out to dinner or a movie or both and just have a very relaxing day, nothing too fancy."

Athletic Trainer Lisa White has two very special Valentines to celebrate with. "My little neice and nephew are my best Valentines every year."

Cathrine Kraayeveld is subscribing to someone else's ideas on Valentine's Day this year. "One of my friends used to call it 'Singles Awareness Day,' which I thought was pretty good."

Assistant Coach Marianne Stanley likes to celebrate with a good meal. "I usually just go out for a nice dinner."

Whoever your Valentine might be, what better way to show you care than to give them the gift of Liberty this V-Day? So whether you celebrate with your parents, your best friend, or even your dog, wrap them up a Liberty ticket plan, or something from our online store. It will be the Valentine's gift that keeps on giving all summer.

Happy Valentine's Day from the New York Liberty!
