Liberty Honor Service Men and Women

The New York Liberty will host “Military Appreciation Day” presented by Chase, on Sunday, June 10 vs. Chicago Sky at 4 p.m at the Prudential Center. As part of national Military Appreciation Week, the team will incorporate various military inspired elements into the afternoon as well as including service men and women in the game presentation.

The Liberty will tip-off the game by unveiling a full-court sized American flag on the court during the singing of the national anthem. Following the anthem, Liberty season ticket holder veterans will participate in the “Starting Five Line-up Tunnel” to cheer on the team as they hit the court and one of the veterans will join head coach John Whisenant on the bench to serve as an honorary coach for the game. At halftime, the Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team will perform and Liberty mascot Maddie will be dressed in full military fatigues to salute our troops.

“Today’s game is just one of the many ways the Liberty say ‘thank you’ to our brave military personnel. It is an honor and a privilege to have them here to support the team on our home court,” said head coach John Whisenant.

The highlight of the afternoon will be the presentation of a mortgage-free home, awarded to a military veteran on behalf of Operation Homefront, Chase and the Garden of Dreams Foundation. In addition, veterans and active service members who present their ID cards at the Prudential Center box office will receive a complimentary ticket to the game, their guests will receive a 50% discount, presented by Chase (@nyliberty, #CHASE4VETS).
