Liberty Signs Cathrine Kraayeveld

New York, NY - July 1, 2005 - The New York Liberty has signed Cathrine Kraayeveld for the remainder of the 2005 WNBA season. The announcement was made today by New York Liberty Senior Vice President and General Manager Carol Blazejowski.

The San Antonio Silver Stars drafted Kraayeveld, a recent graduate from the University of Oregon, in the 2005 WNBA Draft. The 6’ 4” forward from Kirkland, Washington was an All-Pac 10 First Team recipient in 2005 and received honorable mention in 2002 and 2003.

During her senior season at the University of Oregon she averaged 14.7 points per game along with 8.3 rebounds while playing a total of 975 minutes. She ranked sixth in the Pacific-10 Conference in scoring and second in rebounding to earn First-Team all-conference accolades as well as all-region honors, in addition to ranking among the top-10 in nine of the league’s 13 individual statistical categories.

Tamara Moore has been released.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed as per team policy.
