October 31, 2006 - New York, NY - Becky Hammon is taking her talents over to the NBA. She's going to give it her all, leave it all out on the court, and shoot for the stars. Don't worry, no matter what kind of metaphor you want to use, the Liberty All-Star is not hanging up her WNBA shoes in persuit of an NBA pair. Or not exactly anyway. Hammon will be taking her basketball knowledge and passion to select NBA arenas this season when she serves as a sideline reporter for ESPN.

The sports network has announced that Hammon will be one of just a handful of reporters that will be used in ESPN and ABC's coverage of the 2006-07 NBA season. She will join the ranks of experienced reporters who will be serving on the telecasts, such as Doris Burke, Stuart Scott and Jim Gray. Fellow WNBA-er Kara Lawson, a repeat ESPN reporter, will also be covering the NBA games this winter.

Hammon has prior experience broadcasting games for College Sports Television (CSTV). She also served as an analyst for the WNBA Finals on ESPN this season. And as perhaps the most-interviewed player on the Liberty, she certainly is used to being in front of the camera.

Becky Hammon will make her NBA debut this Friday, November 3, at 7:30 p.m.. She will be on the sidelines in San Antonio as Tim Duncan and the Spurs host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Long-time commentators Mike Breen and Hubie Brown will be calling the game on ESPN, and will be throwing it to Hammon for her insight.
