Hammon Gives Coat Off Her Back

New York, NY - December 2, 2005 - In the true holiday spirit this morning, Becky Hammon was willing to give the shirt off her back. Or rather, make that the coat off her back. The Liberty point guard joined KISS FM today for their "KISS Cares Coat Drive." Hammon stopped by The Virgin Mega Store, located on E. 14th Street in Manhattan, at 8:00 a.m. to donate a coat to the cause. Becky was one of many New Yorkers that brought a new, clean, or gently used winter coat to the KISS live Radio Marathon.

This year is the third annual "KISS Cares Coat Drive" Radio Marathon. KISS FM will be broadcasting live from 6:00 a.m. to Midnight from the Virgin location. During last year's drive, they collected more than 13,000 coats and more than $13,000 in donations, and are looking to make an even bigger impact this year. The coat drive is put on by the KISS Cares Foundation and will benefit the 17th annual New York Cares Coat Drive, which takes place December 1 - 31 in New York. The coats collected during the drive will be distributed to men, women and children at various NYC shelters, community organizations, churches and agencies serving seniors.

While donating a coat, Becky also took time to chat on-air with the KISS Morning Club. She also wrapped up Mike Wood's weather report on Fox 5's Good Day New York.
