What was your first impression of New York?
I was very impressed! I knew this organization, team, and city had a lot to offer.
Describe your transition from Detroit to New York.
I’ve transitioned from a back-up post player who was expected to hold down the fort while the starters were resting or in foul trouble, to being required to be a vocal leader on and off the floor, and to be someone who leads by example.
What is your favorite restaurant in New York?
Virgil’s. It’s a southern style cuisine with a soul food flavor. I haven’t had a bad meal there yet!
When you’re not in New York, what do you miss the most?
The endless possibilities this city has to offer.
What do you like most about New York?
The mentality of the people here, because they all believe that this is the best city in the world.
What do you like the least about New York?
The occasional run-ins with rats on the street.
Does anything in New York remind you of your hometown?
Not really. Where I live, everything moves at a much slower pace. Although we do have the option of taking the train into the city.
Where in New York do you like to shop?
In Westchester. I enjoy the quietness of the suburbs. The city can be a bit overwhelming sometimes.
When you’re not on the court, where in New York do you hang out?
I love going to the movies. I also enjoy shopping at my regular stores, it's very peaceful.
What was one thing you learned about New York that you didn’t know before arriving?
You always get the impression that New Yorkers are rude and self-involved, but I have only met friendly and pleasant people who were more than willing to help.
