As players are beginning to part ways en route to off-season endeavors, NYLiberty.com is handing in its season homework – a final report, which takes a look back at how each member of the team faired this summer. Today’s chapter of the report looks at forward Tiffany Jackson.
ANSWERING THE CALL
Along with team-mate Ashley Battle, Jackson was a key contributor off the bench this season for the Liberty … Some highlights of her stellar reserve performances came in New York’s victory against Phoenix on June 3rd with six rebounds, five assists and seven points in 16 minutes, a career-high 17 points and six boards at Chicago on June 15th and 16 points and six boards in a victory over Detroit on August 12th.
GO TO THE HEAD OF THE CLASS
Jackson capped off her freshman season achieving the second highest field goal percentage (.416) amongst the League’s rookies, just behind team-mate Jessica Davenport (.445) … She also was the sixth overall leading rebounder amongst her rookie peers.
PERFORMING IN THE POSTSEASON
Jackson was the Liberty bench’s leading scorer in the Playoffs against the Shock with her 7.7 points per game … She shot a team second-best 77.8 percent from the charity stripe in the three-game series … Jackson also averaged 14.2 minutes, 4.3 boards and 1.3 assists in her post-season debut … The rookie notched her first double-double of her career in Game Two with 14 points and 10 boards.
