The summer came and went, but not without plenty of excitement from the 2007 Liberty. Through the up’s and down’s, it was a great season for the young squad to get some experience in the quicker, bigger, stronger WNBA.

As players are beginning to part ways en route to off-season endeavors, NYLiberty.com is handing in its season homework – a final report, which takes a look back at how each member of the team faired this summer. Today’s chapter of the report looks at center Barbara Farris.

ADD SOME SEASONING
Farris was the most experienced player on the Liberty’s roster this season, having completed her eighth season in the WNBA in 2007 … New York’s roster was the youngest in franchise history, but Farris added veteran status and a dominant presence on the court … Overall, in Liberty wins this season, she averaged 3.0 points and 2.1 rebounds in 10.5 minutes.

JUMP START THE SUMMER
In the Liberty’s perfect 5-0 start to the summer, Farris averaged 13.8 minutes, 4.2 points and 2.4 rebounds … Her season high of 11 points came on May 24th against the Washington Mystics, along with six boards, one steal and one assist.

FREE FOR ALL
Farris was one of the Liberty’s Top three free throw shooters this season, with a career-best .813 percentage … She missed only three attempts from the charity stripe in 2007.

MILESTONE ON THE HORIZON
With her 53 points posted this season, Farris is on pace to reach the career milestone of 1,000 points scored in 2008.
