As one of the charter members of the WNBA, the New York Liberty has always been, and continues to be, dedicated to community outreach. Through a variety of community initiatives, like Read to Achieve, Mind. Body. Spirit and Breast Health Awareness, the Liberty strive to better the lives of children and communities in the New York Metropolitan Area in a myriad of ways. The Liberty's support is felt in areas such as education, nutrition, physical fitness and finance, just to name a few.

The Garden of Dreams Foundation is a non profit charity that works closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden, including MSG Entertainment, the Knicks, Rangers, Liberty and MSG Network to “make dreams come true for kids in crisis”. Garden of Dreams is partnering with local children's hospitals, "wish" organizations and community-based organizations to build on-going, unforgettable programs for children in the tri-state area who are suffering from devastating illness, homelessness, abuse, hunger, extreme poverty and tragedy.
