AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Deanna Nolan had the go-ahead jumper with 2:01 left and the Detroit Shock went on to beat the Indiana Fever 76-71 on Wednesday night.

Kara Braxton scored a career-high 22 points and fellow reserve Plenette Pierson added 20 for the Shock (2-1). Nolan finished with 14 points and eight assists.

Katie Douglas had 26 points to lead Indiana (1-1). Tan White scored 17 points and Tammy Sutton-Brown added 12, but the Fever couldn't overcome 27 turnovers.

Detroit coach Bill Laimbeer took the mercurial Braxton out of the starting lineup, and the move paid off early. Braxton came off the bench to score eight points in the first period, and Indiana turned the ball over 10 times in the quarter.

The Shock led 22-10 at the end of the period, and still had a seven-point edge at halftime, but Indiana ralled in the third, holding Detroit to 13 points.

The Fever led 58-56 going into the fourth, and were ahead until Cheryl Ford's layup put the Shock up 66-65 with 3:25 to play.

Ebony Hoffman's putback put Indiana back ahead, but baskets by Nolan and Pierson gave the Shock a 70-67 lead with 1:45 left, and Detroit held on.
