UNCASVILLE, Conn., Aug. 4 (AP) -- Katie Douglas scored 19 points and the Connecticut Sun routed the Indiana Fever 84-59 Saturday night.
The Sun's fourth consecutive win put them within a game of Indiana for second place in the East.
Margo Dydek had 12 points, nine rebounds and three blocks, and Asjha Jones added 11 for Connecticut (16-12).
K.B. Sharp had 14 and Tammy Sutton-Brown chipped in nine for Indiana (17-11). The Fever, who lost Tamika Catchings to a foot injury on July 20, have now lost seven of their last eight. Catchings had been averaging over 16 points and nine rebounds.
Connecticut jumped out to an early 11-5 lead, and was up 25-15 after one quarter thanks to 10 points from Douglas.
They extended that to 20 points, 42-22, with 3:09 to go in the half, and were up 49-24 at the break after Douglas hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining. The Sun shot 50 percent from the field, including 58 percent in the first half, when they hit 8-of-9 from 3-point range.
The Sun led 67-44 after three.
Connecticut has won 10-of-11. They started the season 6-10, before going 9-2 in July.
Indiana is 0-3 against the Sun this season, and has not beaten Connecticut since last Aug. 11.
The teams play one more time during the regular season, on Aug. 15.
