LOS ANGELES, July 10 (AP) -- Iziane Castro Marques scored 19 points and Lauren Jackson had 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Seattle Storm to an 82-47 rout of the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday.
The 47 points was a record low for Los Angeles, which also went down to a franchise-record sixth consecutive defeat. The Sparks shot a season-worst 29.9 percent.
Betty Lennox added 12 points and Janell Burse had 11 for the Storm (11-8), who have won four of the last five and are 6-2 in their last eight games.
"We just focused on getting into the playoffs,'' Castro Marques said. "If you keep playing the way we were playing, you're not going to get there.
"We had to be fourth at the (All-Star) break.''
Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 10 points for the Sparks (7-12).
"I'm about to shed tears because I'm a defensive coach,'' Sparks coach Michael Cooper said. "For our defense to be incomplete and incompetent is obviously a reflection on me.''
Lennox scored five points and Jackson added four during a 13-2 surge that gave the Storm a 24-12 lead at the start of the second quarter.
Seattle made 10 of 17 shots in the first quarter while the Sparks missed 10 of 15 and committed eight turnovers that the Storm used to score 11 points.
Overall, Seattle scored 26 points on 21 turnovers.
The Sparks' former record low in a game was 51 points, which they scored three times.
