Augustus Leads Lynx Past Silver Stars

SAN ANTONIO, June 29 (AP) -- Seimone Augustus scored 29 points to lead the Minnesota Lynx to a 77-66 win over the San Antonio Silver Stars on Friday night.

Augustus was 12 for 19 from the field and made all five of her free throws to go along with nine rebounds.

Sophia Young led the Silver Stars (8-6) with 17 points, Erin Buescher had 14, and Ruth Riley had 10 in San Antonio's second straight loss after four wins in a row. Silver Stars leading scorer Becky Hammon was held to 12 points.

Nicole Ohlde added 14 points for Minnesota (5-10) and Lindsey Harding had 11 in the Lynx's second road win of the season.

Augustus helped Minnesota start the second quarter on a 22-7 run, but despite that, the Lynx only led by six at halftime.

Silver Stars coach Dan Hughes, recovering from surgery to repair a torn Achilles' tendon, was behind the bench for the first time since surgery on June 14.
