LOS ANGELES, June 22 (AP) -- Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 21 points, and the Los Angeles Sparks overcame a 19-point third-quarter deficit to beat the Sacramento Monarchs 96-88 in double-overtime Friday night.
Sherill Baker added 14 points, including the game-tying free throw with 3.9 seconds left in regulation, to help the Sparks (6-5) snap a three-game skid.
Six players scored in double-figures for Los Angeles. Sidney Spencer added 15 points, Marta Fernandez and Mwadi Mabika scored 14 each, and Christi Thomas 10.
Sacramento (8-4) led 41-32 at halftime and stretched the lead to 66-47 at the end of the third. But Los Angeles went on a 13-1 run to begin the fourth quarter, and got within 75-74 on McWilliams-Franklin's layup with 39 seconds left.
The Monarchs led throughout the first overtime, much as they did during regulation, before Spencer scored on a driving layup with 24 seconds left to force a second overtime tied at 83.
That one belonged to the Sparks, who scored the first six points.
Yolanda Griffith had 20 points to lead Sacramento. Nicole Powell added 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Chelsea Newton finished with 13 points.
