SAN ANTONIO, May 25 (AP) -- Becky Hammon scored 21 points and reserve forward Erin Buescher had 18 to lead the San Antonio Silver Stars to an 82-71 victory over the Seattle Storm on Friday night.
Hammon, a three-time All-Star acquired from the New York Liberty in a draft-day trade, has led the Silver Stars (2-1) in scoring in their first three games. Buescher, signed as a restricted free agent from Sacramento, was 7-of-10 shots from the field.
The Storm, who set a franchise scoring record in a 100-87 victory over Phoenix on Wednesday, scored just 12 points in the second quarter. They went 1-for-14 in a 10:29 span of the first and second quarters.
The Storm trailed by 16 points in the second quarter but cut it to 56-48 when Castro Marques hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 3:43 left in the third quarter.
Jackson made it 57-51 less than a minute later with a three-point play.
But in the final 1:22 of the quarter, reserve Shanna Crossley knocked down two 3-pointers and a short jumper on a fast break to make it 67-51.
Crossley finished with 14 points.
