The victory moved the Fever (21-12) within one game of second-place Detroit (22-11), which lost to Washington on Friday. Indiana hosts expansion Chicago and Detroit hosts league-leading Connecticut on Sunday.

The Fever took the lead for good at 26-23 when DeForge hit a 3-pointer with 9:46 left in the second period. The basket started a 9-1 run capped by Catchings' layup which made it 32-24 with 8:03 left.
Leading 66-57 after three quarters, the Fever allowed just 11 points in the final period and pulled away.
Tamika Whitmore scored nine points for Indiana, which shot 51 percent (36-for-71) from the field.
Nykesha Sales scored 17 and Lindsay Whalen added 16 for the Sun. Connecticut's Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 12 points, eclipsing 3,000 for her career.
