AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 10 (Ticker) -- Deanna Nolan scored 18 of her 22 points in the first half as the Detroit Shock cruised to an 82-48 triumph over the expansion Chicago Sky.

It was the eighth victory in the last 11 games for Detroit (22-10), which owns a two-game lead over the Indiana Fever (20-12) for second place in the Eastern Conference.

The Shock can clinch second place - and home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs - with one more victory or a loss by the Fever. Each team has two games left.

Detroit reserve Kara Braxton collected 13 points and a career-high 12 rebounds off the bench to register her first career double-double. Kedra-Holland Corn added 11 points and seven assists off the bench for the Shock, who knocked down a franchise-record 11 3-pointers.

The Shock opened the second quarter with a whopping 29-0 run to pull away. Nolan scored eight points during the run and highlighted the outburst with a pair of 3-pointers.

Chicago finally ended Detroit's outrageous surge with 1:04 remaining in the first half, when Bernadette Ngoyisa converted a layup to draw the Sky within 45-18.

Rookie Candice Dupree scored 12 points and Ngoyisa added 11 off the bench for Chicago (4-28), which has lost 14 of its last 15 games.
