NEW YORK, Aug. 5 (Ticker) -- Ashley Battle scored a career-high 21 points as the New York Liberty continued their strong finish to the season with an 80-69 victory over the Chicago Sky.

Shameka Christon added 21 points and Cathrine Kraayeveld 11 for the Liberty (9-21), who have won two in a row and five of six.

New York scored the first 10 points and led, 20-7, after the first quarter behind seven points from Loree Moore. A layup by Kraayeveld gave the Liberty their biggest lead at 25-7 with 8:08 to play in the second period.

Chicago closed to 40-28 at halftime and 75-69 with 1:02 remaining on a layup by All-Star rookie Candice Dupree. But Shameka Christon drained a 3-pointer with 37 seconds to play.

Dupree scored 24 points and Stacey Lovelace-Tolbert added 13 for Chicago, which lost its fourth straight game. Coach Dave Cowens was ejected in the fourth quarter and was not around to was his expansion team drop to 1-13 on the road.

The Liberty honored Teresa Weatherspoon during halftime, inducting her to the Madison Square Garden Walk of Fame.
