Jones scored eight of her 22 points in a decisive second-quarter run as the Connecticut Sun won their eighth straight game, a 66-52 victory over the New York Liberty.

The Sun (22-6) took the lead for good at 16-14 late in the first quarter on a layup by Le'coe Willingham. They opened the second period with a 14-0 burst powered by Jones and capped at 31-14 on a layup by Laura Summerton.
A 3-pointer by Cathrine Kraayeveld pulled New York (7-21) within 43-39 late in the third quarter. However, Connecticut scored six of the first eight points of the final period to rebuild its lead to 51-41 and cruised thereafter.
Douglas and Erin Phillips scored nine points each and Taj McWilliams-Franklin and Margo Dydek grabbed 10 rebounds each for the Sun, who shot less than 40 percent (26-of-66) but held a 44-32 advantage on the glass.
Loree Moore scored 16 points and Kraayeveld added 12 for the Liberty, who shot just 32 percent (21-of-65) and had their season-high three-game winning streak snapped. New York fell to 0-3 vs. Connecticut this season.
Liberty guard Becky Hammon, who had missed the last nine games with an ankle injury, played 11 minutes off the bench and scored two points.
