PHOENIX, July 30 (Ticker) -- Astou Ndiaye-Diatta converted a follow shot in the lane with 4.1 seconds left to give the Houston Comets an 82-80 victory over the Phoenix Mercury.

Dawn Staley scored 17 points and Michelle Snow added 16 and 13 rebounds for Houston (16-12), which also defeated Phoenix, 98-95, on Thursday.

Trailing, 80-74, with 2:57 left, the Comets scored the game's final eight points. Snow's layup with 72 seconds left tied the game.

On Phoenix's ensuing possession, Kristen Rasmussen committed a turnover, setting the stage for Ndiaye-Diatta, who rebounded Snow's miss and sank a 10-footer in the lane for the winning points.

Following a timeout, Diana Taurasi misfired on a wild desperation shot as time expired.

Taurasi scored 24 points on 9-of-21 shooting. The league's leading scorer had a career-high 41 points in Thursday's loss.

Comets star Sheryl Swoopes scored 11 of her 13 points in the first half, which ended in a 41-41 tie.

Kelly Miller scored 18 points and Penny Taylor added 11 and eight rebounds off the bench for the Mercury (11-16), who shot just 39.5 percent (31-of-72) in their fourth straight loss.
