UNCASVILLE, Conn., July 28 (Ticker) -- All-Star Katie Douglas scored 19 points as the Connecticut Sun held on for their sixth straight victory, a 75-68 triumph over the Sacramento Monarchs.

All-Star Taj McWilliams-Franklin had 15 points and 14 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season for the Sun, who improved to 11-2 at Mohegan Sun Arena this season.

Connecticut limited All-Star Yolanda Griffith to six points on 3-of-7 shooting as it avenged a 69-63 loss at Sacramento on July 15 and split the season series. The Sun lost to the Monarchs in last year's WNBA Finals.

After Sacramento cut the deficit to 47-42 on a 3-pointer by Nicole Powell with 7:37 to play in the third period, Connecticut closed the quarter with a 13-5 run. Douglas scored seven points during the spurt, which opened a 63-47 lead entering the final period.

Powell, who scored 17 points, hit her fourth 3-pointer of the second half to cap a 14-2 run that cut the deficit to 65-61 with 3:41 to go.

McWilliams-Franklin answered with a layup and Asjha Jones and DeMya Walker traded baskets before Lindsay Whalen drained a 3-pointer with 1:05 remaining to seal the win for the Sun.

Whalen added 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting for Connecticut, which shot just 41 percent (25-of-61) from the floor.

Walker scored a season-high 15 points and Erin Buescher added 13 points for Sacramento, which has dropped three consecutive games after winning seven in a row.
