WASHINGTON, July 27 (Ticker) -- Alana Beard had a nice bounce-back game.

Beard paced six players in double figures with 26 points as the Washington Mystics posted a 92-74 victory over the Chicago Sky.

After scoring just nine points on 4-of-14 shooting in Tuesday's 86-73 loss to Connecticut, Beard shot 8-of-12 from the field and made all nine free throws. The third-year pro added six rebounds and five assists.

Chasity Melvin scored 16 points, DeLisha Milton-Jones added 13 and Crystal Robinsonand Nikki Teasley 11 each for Washington, which shot 58 percent (35-of-60), including 8-of-16 3-pointers.

Melvin scored 10 points in the first quarter as the Mystics jumped to a 27-17 lead. They increased the bulge to 12 at the break, but their lead dwindled to 67-60 when Jia Perkins converted a three-point play and Katie Cronin hit a 3-pointer to close the third quarter.

Milton-Jones and Melvin scored the first two hoops of the final quarter to rebuild the lead to 11 points. A layup and two free throws by Beard pushed the margin to 87-70 with 3 1/2 minutes left.

Bernadette Ngoyisa and Stacey Dales each scored 18 points to lead Chicago, which lost its eighth straight game overall and 12th in a row on the road.
