PHOENIX, July 25, 2006 (Ticker) -- Sue Bird did what fellow All-Star Lauren Jackson usually does against the Phoenix Mercury.

Bird scored a season-high 25 points and Betty Lennox added 19 as the Seattle Storm posted a 91-85 victory over the Mercury.

Behind the play of Bird and Lennox, the Storm ended the season series against the Mercury with a 3-1 mark.

Jackson averaged 30.0 points and 10.7 rebounds in the first three meetings against Phoenix this season. She contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds in this one.

The 5-9 Bird stole the show Tuesday, making 9-of-14 shots, including five 3-pointers. She even scored 10 consecutive points for her club in the third quarter.

Trailing 70-67, the Storm used a 13-2 run in the fourth quarter to take the lead for good. Rookie Barbara Turner's 3-pointer with 3:40 remaining capped the burst.

All-Star Diana Taurasi scored 21 of her 27 points in the second half and Penny Taylor added 22 before suffering a right leg injury in the final period for Phoenix (11-13), which fell to 6-6 at home.
